To fulfill the special wishes of terminally ill patients of Hospice of Garrett
County who are suffering from life threatening illnesses, and in all probability
will not survive for six months.
Operation
The Dream Come True Program is under the direction of the Hospice of Garrett
County Board of Directors. This group is charged with these responsibilities:
To notify the public and specific groups of the mission by all available means
so that the people of Garrett County can develop an awareness of the Dream Come
True Program.
To raise funds and secure in-kind contributions to support the non-profit
activity so that no approved wish goes unanswered.
To enlist and utilize volunteers who will support and enhance this mission.
Concept
The Dream Come True Program is designed similar to the concept
of the national organization "Make-A-Wish" Foundation.
Requests
All request must be in submitted in writing by a Hospice Volunteer,
a doctor, or a family member, to the Hospice of Garrett County Director. The Dream
Come True Committee will meet with the referral person and the family, and then
determine whether or not to grant the wish.
